Testing Shapes: Mount; Anatomy of My Rough Process

Update: I already posted these pieces over at The Art Center, but since this is my journal, I wanted to put it up here, too. It's a sort of anatomy of my rough process. The final rough sketch is a composite of the pencil and the digital drawing. The clean-up will follow soonish... by the by, you can buy the original pencil sketch through an auction for the Christchurch victims. The starting bid is as low as $10,-! Plus, the original piece comes with signed prints of the coloured and cleaned-up illustration (Motorbirds Illustrated cover and work-in-progress sheet).

Update2: AUCTION CLOSED, THE SKETCH WAS SOLD!

Digital Sketchbook: Duckmarine

Another rough design out of my props sketchbook.

BTW, what I love about digital sketching is how quickly I can edit and modify the rough pieces.

This is where I got a lot of inspiration from:

And from here (Supercar!) :)

Update: Check out the interview with the fantastic Mr. Greg Broadmore (concept artist on P. Jacksons King Kong) on the Academy of Art blog. To view Greg's blog click here.

Update2: I LOVE paper toys and this kit is a stunner.

Meeting New Challenges

Well, wish me luck :) As from now, me an' my creations are with Ankama Studios.

Alright, this here is a short clip they made about Ankama. I'm BTW not involved in any of their current cartoon shows, I'm "just" developing my own things together with them...

Actual post: Alright, it's official now, me, Toby Skybuckle and StarDucks are with Ankama Studios now. The illustration below is btw the outcome of some digital sketching while I was at Ankama's studio campus in Roubaix, last week.

Big thanks to Crisse, who is the driving force behind all this.
