Radio Controlled Pet In Manhattan

Last year, we spent about 4 weeks in NYC. I've done a lot of sketching there, at places like Central Park, Bryant Park and Union Square... Bryant Park by the way I liked best regarding sketching around, watching people and stuff.

That summer, we also had the joy to meet up with Tina Roth Eisenberg in her studio in Brooklyn. I still owe her a swiss-miss-branded duck. Which is so very nearly finished since last year, only the final clean-up is missing...

The Mountain

Purely tremendous (via OnAnimation):
"This was filmed between 4th and 11th April 2011. I had the pleasure of visiting El Teide. Spain´s highest mountain @(3718m) is one of the best places in the world to photograph the stars and is also the location of Teide Observatories, considered to be one of the world´s best observatories."

How To Draw A Duck

This is the very man who is behind my enthusiasm for drawing ducks and all kinds of bird-like characters. Jeremy Townsend aka Jimmy Jammz from Super Experts U.S.A., enjoy:

Apropos Future of The Past: Yesterday's Cars of Tomorrow

As a visual development artist I collect reference materials a lot. Like this very clip which inspired pretty much several vehicles I did some time ago for a Red Bull project. In one of my next postings I'll give an example of exactly how, in detail, those "retrofuturish" things affect my design work.

By the by, this here is one of my all time favourites, the Bugatti Atlantic. They only built 3 or 4 of them: Click here for the YouTube clip

Pure Inspiration: Magic Highway USA (1958)

How Disney saw the future of highway transportation. I really love the art direction on this.

Motorbirdcopter Super Suit 3000e

This is the rough design of a little gift for my pal Achdé I'm working on. It's a sort of further stage of the "Lucky Duck" I did 2 years ago. I stressed the "Motorbirdpunk" features a little more than in the earlier version. I'll post the finished/coloured piece at a later time...

Rough Artwork

This is a rough visdev piece out of a stack of early concept sheets for Toby Skybuckle©. This gives btw nothing away. I won't do any spoilers here. It's just a wild rough sketch with no relevance for the story...
