I indeed love drawing ducks but sometimes I escape beaks city. This here is a concept piece from last year, for a friend's (Rob Rottensteiner) strong TV show project. The title is fake, this piece here was a test to get an idea where the style is going etc.
Hey, everyone! I'm returning to the Ars Electronica Center for a talk/workshop, this March. If you're around, join me! ARS ELECTRONICA CENTER, March 21st, 2013, 8PM, Sky Loft Hall 9PM, Deep Space Hall.
This is the very, very rough thumbnail sketch for this year's Pixel Conference. I'm quite early with that one this year due to the fact that this thingy will be the official CD of Pixel 8.
Anyways, in connection with this piece's process I would like to point out that those kind of rough thumbnail pieces just have to provide enough information to me in order to make me able to identify the shapes and volumes/forms for the process' next step. I think it's important to share how sketchy and rough things start.
«Florian Satzinger has a drawing style with a snap and verve that harken back to the best of classic Disney and mid 20th Century Warner Brothers animation.
The lines with which he delineates his characters zing, bounce and swoop so delightfully that they suggest lively motion even before they’re animated.
Satzinger credits Southworth as his major influence, and his work in the style of great classic hand-drawn animation shows his continuation of that tradition.»
