Drawn Rope Course

"Don't touch the floor!" (That reminds me of one of the funniest sports-games in PE/school sport: The Piratenspiel, a risky tag game of sorts)

Ryan Wood (He's work/blog keeps me from work)
Shane Lewis (Well, he never ceases to amaze me)
Matt Williames (Simply brilliant)
John Nevarez (Well, it's John - he always puts us to shame)
Martin Wittig (You hinder me from work, too!!)
Oliver Kurth (The drinks are on me)
Ivan Oviedo (He's a brilliant animator)
Mel Milton (Well, it's Mel!)
David Coleman (A front two artist)
Francisco Herrera and Humberto Ramos (Hey men!)
Stephen Silver (Silver Surfer!)
Thierry Martin (Just naturally ueber-talented)
Uli Meyer (Sir!)

My (Blue) Style...

...well, not really. I'm more from the nice-ducks-side of the drawing world but in this very project (where this critter is from) the goal is is not to be nice. And I'm enjoying that a lot.
I suppose Eric (who is a big inspiration to me) may like it. Hopefully anyway.

Old Style

This is not from me. I bought this wonderfully watercoloured piece in an antiquarian bookshop in Milano, last week. I'm not sure if this drawing is just an old children's book illustration or maybe something related to animation. Unfortunately, the artist left no signature or date on it. Anyway, I really like its early animation style and warm colouring.

Blue Pencils

Update (Friday, March 21, 2008): I used to like going for walks.

---- previous post (SAT, March 15, 2008) ----

Alright, I set off now (as the boys* above). It's time for some work-related things abroad and a few days of relax over Easter. Happy Easter!

*Those roughs were for an ad agency's pitch to their client... 'hope they liked it.

Uh oh... the literally dark side of my concept art.

These are "older" (2007) concept pieces. They fit nicely with the friedly alien below, don't they?

Rough Piece

Managed to make it back to my drawing desk in one piece after a lot of travelling. Anyway, here is an older rough concept piece I still like very much. I think it's inspired by one of those cardboard box spaceships my brother and I were building when we were kids...

StarDucks: Steampunk Duck Update

Update (Monday, February 18, 2008): This small prev below just came in from the racing team. Together with the news that their mechanicians will recreate some pieces of the original design in the flesh. Wow. Imagineering!

StarDucks: Pan American Racer

It's a peach! StarDucks' Steampunk Duck appears on/sponsors Lars Kroiss' stunningly beautiful Volvo 122S on this year's La Carrera Panamericana. What you can see above are the approved rough designs. I'll post the finished designs later this month. (BTW: The photo above shows not Kroiss' racer but it is basically the same)
Photo above: L. Spurzem

Update: Alright, this just came in from Lars. This is the actual car, where the designs will be displayed:

The Many Faces of Eustace Tilley

These two steampunkish profilers are inspired largely by Rea Irvin's famous dandy character, The New Yorker's figurehead Eustace Tilley. Withal, the two of them are just add-ons of sorts to my Huck Finn "recalibration" and aren't motivated by some of the figures from Twain's original book.
