Pixel 3.0 Symposium, Vienna

BTW: This October, we'll speak at the Pixel 3.0 Symposium about our developmental work etc. I'll add some more information to this post a little later - I'm still abroad. A big sorry for not answering e-mails at the moment. I'm too busy with travelling, presentations etc. I'll reply as soon as I'm back at the studio. Update (WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2008): Alright, here's a wee bit more on the Pixel Symposium in Vienna (Oct 25 and 26). So far as I know dear colleague Maryam Laura Moazedi (StarDucks Prod.) will be there with me as well as Lee Stringer (LucasArts) and one of the good boys from Ambient Entertainment.

Colour Inspiration

The trees still have no leaves on their branches. Well, it's still winter, here. Update (TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 09, 2008): What I've forgotten to mention is that this "weaponish" horn up the front is a motor horn. The only thing it hurts is one's ears. A flying cheers from Cordoba (ARG)!

Muzzle Flashes

Sorry for the lack of updates and replies! We're terribly busy ('n still terribly far away) so I'm bad about answering e-mails and comments. Below you find two early sketches of some minor characters for the StarDucks project. I hope I can post some coloured/finished pieces, soon.

After all, I'm thinking (and my dear pal Herrera is forcing me :) of doing a sketchbook sometime in the near future. The title should probably read "On Critters, Ducks And Dragons And Sundry Other Things And Hobs".

Update (SUNDAY, August 24, 2008): One can draw pretty good here :) Currently, I'm preparing a couple of new sample drawings (some birdish critters - it's a good practice for me for the upcoming StarDucks project) for lectures I'll hold both at the IPES Institute for Advanced Studies and the Animation Campus Academy in Montevideo. I plan to post the finished pieces a little later.

MS Seapunk

I showed Mrs Potts once before, but did I show her neighbour's yacht? (Both designs are for a children's production led by writer and composer Henry Muldrow)

Usually, I start drawing small sketches of the character / vehicle / bg I'm aiming at. Then I continue with sketches in the final scale.

Pencil

I'm quite concerned with the quality of those new pencils.

BTW: I'm featured in the August 2008 issue of the ImagineFX magazine, as I noticed today. Together with some brill wizards like Gabriele Pennacchioli (DreamWorks), Colin Fix (2K Games) et al. I think I'm in good company :)

Rough Sky Rider

I did another horned SkyDucks Rider but still haven't found the time to colour/finish it...

By the by and because Richard was asking recently: for those duckish skyriders I didn't any research but I guess I was quite inspired by the Red Bull Flugtag events.

Room With A View

Last week, I stayed in Paris for some duck work related things. And this was the view from my hotel-room: (We had beautiful weather, hadn't we?)

Oh, I forgot to mention that this very off-hand critter scrambled out of my sketchbook and then right out of the window. He must be still somewhere there on that clocktower of Gare de Lyon.
