Production Artwork Pieces (1966-1967): Planet Of The Apes

Apropos apes, here are some drop-dead beautiful production pieces from the 1960s. I'm so much in love with those utopistic designs from the past, especially the ones from the 1960s and early 1970s. They leave so much space for own interpretations, ideas and inventions. Willie Real's Google Doodle

Isn't it a beautifully rendered piece? My good friend and ex-teaching colleague Willie Real, after a couple of years at Blue Sky he's with Google now, did today's brilliant Gregor Mendel tribute. I instantly recognised Willie's style:

Biddington And Birtwhistle: 100 Years City Of Burbank - The Animation Capital Of The World

Biddington and Birtwhistle are two birdish side characters out of Toby Skybuckle© (a project I'm currently developing with France based Ankama Media Group). Besides, I brought those birds to use with this sujet below, which I was asked by CTN's Tina Price to create for Burbank's Centennial. I had a lot of fun designing this.

Johnny Seven, Secret Sam And Agent Zero M

Even though, or just because of that, this looks and sounds quite strange from today's perspective, I wanted to share this "James Bond-ish" or rather "cold-war-ish" or just "war-ish" Johnny Seven vintage toy commercial that I stumbled upon again recently. Which by the way inspired the gun design of this older big-game hunter character sketch I did a couple of years ago.
