COAT OF SMILES, parody art of iconic symbols. A duck's hat, a mouse's ears and a smiling yellow button. Three iconic things brought together in one artwork.

Otto Waalkes

Who would have thought it? German comedian and cartoonist Otto Waalkes' first encounter with my very ducks at Caricature Museum Krems, a couple of days ago.

This is really something, it feels like things have fallen in place, finally. For the simple reason that my very, very first commission - I think it happened when I was 12 or 13 years old - was about drawing Ottifanten, initiated by a friend of mine, Stefan. He wanted me to draw as many Ottifanten as possible on a large drawing cardboard. Now, after this long time, I drew a new one.

And it felt awesome.

On the photos you can see the museum's director Gottfried Gusenbauer showing Otto Waalkes around at the museum.

Destination Moon

Rough concept vs finished sujet, 🚀 'John Starduck' (ca. 2018). I think that I never posted the initial sketch of this, which was BTW inspired by a production still from the Sci-Fi classic 'Destination Moon' (1950).
