COAT OF SMILES, parody art of iconic symbols. A duck's hat, a mouse's ears and a smiling yellow button. Three iconic things brought together in one artwork.

Biddington And Birtwhistle: 100 Years City Of Burbank - The Animation Capital Of The World

Biddington and Birtwhistle are two birdish side characters out of Toby Skybuckle© (a project I'm currently developing with France based Ankama Media Group). Besides, I brought those birds to use with this sujet below, which I was asked by CTN's Tina Price to create for Burbank's Centennial. I had a lot of fun designing this.

Tweeter (ol' warhorse chicken)

*Todfeind: German word for deadly foe

Sorry again for the lack of updates, replies and answers. I'm terribly busy at work in parallel with preparing things for a longer work related stay (and holidays) abroad... happy holidays to everyone!

Unquestionably this very critter is inspired by Warner Bros' Tweety... and a little bit by my Latin teacher back in school.

Toby Skybuckle will have some serious questions to answer about that skipper... Anyway, this is just a quick post on the fly. I'll be back to my drawing desk on Wednesday or Thursday Monday, April 27 ... see you then. Btw, in the meantime, you could perhaps check out Jake's props and vehicles sketches for the Horton movie...

Toby Skybuckle: Colour Design Piece

This still's muddy colours are right from those photos of an old tree I took by the side of my town's river, today afternoon.

At the moment, I'm working on a kind of colour bible for each scenery of TS1. And in this instance, I generated a nice bark pattern, too, no?

promise to improve,
as from tomorrow.
"
TOBY SKYBUCKLE, adventurer

"A likely story,
snotty brat!
"
HAROLD, dragon

"Listen to them.
Children of the night.
What music they make.
"
DRACULA, monster

TOBY SKYBUCKLE©, Adventurer by Mistake - Book I, "The Fall". Btw, guess where the colours for this teaser come from...

I took those shots somewhere between Milano and Torino out in the country, last week. Splendid colours, no?

Toby's New Year

I wish you all a Happy New Year! I for one will start working on Toby Skybuckle I (besides StarDucks of course), in January. Cheers and big thanks to Crisse and the good girls 'n' boys from Soleil Productions for letting this boy's adventures begin...

...I call this, btw, a Swiss sword. And I've had a few optional Austrian-Salzburgian extras installed ;)
