Motor Hat

I've no idea for what this hat is for or how it works. Anyway, I really enjoy painting all sorts of reek, damp, steam etc...

This sidekick character was for a nice project from last year. The client really liked it, but after all the market research resulted in prefering something like "pink girlies" and stuff.

Hu, tomorrow is Friday already, I really wish to have an Otter Ball craft for this weekend's getaway...

Update: Hu two, I totally forgot to link to Erwin Madrid's wonderful work in progress painting post! In this very connection, it seems natural to refer to Mr. Erik Martin, too.

This still's muddy colours are right from those photos of an old tree I took by the side of my town's river, today afternoon.

At the moment, I'm working on a kind of colour bible for each scenery of TS1. And in this instance, I generated a nice bark pattern, too, no?

Talking Inspiration...

Not only do the colours of Carl Spitzweg's paintings bring inspiration my way but also the concept gives me a boost. And look (butterfly!) how well that panned out for this New Yorker homage ("The Many Faces of Eustace Tilley") I did last January:

The Butterfly Catcher is, btw, one of my favorite paintings. Oh, and sorry for posting something old... but I promise to improve with the next post ;)

Voila, the finished piece. This sujet gives quite a wee bit away on the 1^st StarDucks adventure's central theme, but it does not spoil it.
