Paper Worker

I was going through my rough sketches photo archive...

In view of the fact that I'm almost only using a graphic tablet lately, "real paper", "real pencils" and "real drawings" are on the decrease here.

I don't know but it's somehow sad...

If I recall correctly, some of the sketches here were part of my Nemoland exhibit last year, realised by the Accademia Nemo.

Snow Game

Man, it's snowing a bunch outside...

Anyways, last year we spent quite some time in Montevideo, Uruguay. I became very familiar with the streets and places. An absolutely wonderful city full of caring people. In this context it's quite weird to watch some mech-monsters burning down Montevideo in Fede Alvarez' science fiction short film "Panic Attack". (via Cartoon Brew)

Warm-Up Sketch; Captain Christmas 2.0

Update (FRIDAY, June 5, 2009): Besides the Toby Skybuckle and StarDucks tasks I'm playing with a re-design of our Captain Christmas character for some action figure plans we're discussing here. Motto: The decent chap-hero becomes an almost invincible superhero. "Almost" being the operative word.

Nice Ride

I really enjoy designing/drawing all sorts of rides, machines, vehicles etc. All the more if I work on Toby Skybuckle #1 (and that's btw what I'm working on day and night these days), which is full of weird rides and... but we'll wait and see for the book :)

Apropos, the inspiration for this piece (which is not for the Toby book) comes from one of my favorite artists, Jos Danilowatz:
