COAT OF SMILES, parody art of iconic symbols. A duck's hat, a mouse's ears and a smiling yellow button. Three iconic things brought together in one artwork.

Rarely Seen Photographs Capturing Walt Disney

By the way, these are historical photographs, smoking was considered completely common around that time, I'm not revealing any "secrets" about Walt Disney here nor showing him up. I'm always glad to stumble across photos capturing the person Walt Disney, I'm not interested in the larger-than-life, artificial icon he became after his passing.

Apropos Space Age And First Moon Landing 1969

Everyone and everything went space-crazy back then. Colt 45 Malt Liquor Space Age Ad (Playboy 1969).

You're not going to believe this. Even firearms manufacturer Colt produced a space-age shaped pistol, 22 caliber. (images via)

Happy First Moon Landing: 45 Years Later

Happy first moon landing, everyone! It's 45 years later. Actually, I'm one of the biggest space travel fanatics on this very planet and this photograph exactly describes how I feel about this very anniversary.

Pascal Campion

My dear friend Pascal, who's an incredibly gifted artist and a wonderful person all around, has started a beautiful project on Kickstarter. You should definitely check it out: 3000 Moments by Pascal Campion

«3000 Moments is a coffee table book that marks a personal milestone that I have achieved by reaching 3000 Sketches of the Day. In 2005, I began a process, which I call "Sketches of the Day" nearly every morning to express my personal art and continue to grow and practice my discipline. Now, almost 10 years later, I find that I have come to the point that I would like to assemble the best and most meaningful sketches in a 250 page hard cover retrospective.»

Rare Photograph: Walt Disney

This is a shot of Walt Disney I really like. To me, this photo portrays Disney not as everbody's uncle but as the entrepreneur or manager he was.

John Starduck: Dimitrius 1.0, Polar Racer

I just unpacked the Polar Racer model "Dimitrius 1.0", John Starduck's snow ride of choice and supposed to be part of my exhibition at Kunsthaus Graz (Designforum), built by super talented, Toulouse based, Georges Le Bras. I attached two concept sketches of the not yet built front cockpit part here, too.

Captain Christmas vs Captain Holiday

Long, long ago, I created a superhero - I think it has been the one and only superhero I ever did - going with the name Captain Christmas. I used this character for some edgy season's greetings cards and the like. Today, I would name him Captain Holiday rather than Captain Christmas, I guess. Anyways, this here was the final stage/latest version of the Captain, the previous versions went with a more cartoony/funny style.

Alfred J. Kwak

By tomorrow, July 5th 2014, at the Herman van Veen Arts Center, Netherlands, the grant Alfred Jodocus Kwak exhibition will open its doors. In word, sound and vision. It is to be understood as a deep bow of adoration for the late Harald Siepermann's work. I'm glad and thankful for having become a part of this very duck's journeys and I look forward to the things coming up.
