Telephone Doodle Smoke

Well, this piece is quite a bit strange, isn't it?

The story behind this piece is that last week, my students and I were exploring the bone structure/locomotory system of elephants and were watching the Disney short 'Goliath II' and became totally lost in designing characters from those references. The funny legged monsters (below on the right) are btw by the talented Dustin Schiele. Great abstraction on the theme, love it.

Nemoland 2010: The ACME Pose Maker

I just came back from Nemoland and it was great. Eric Goldberg is an absolutely uber-talented man. He's up to every animation trick. The rough piece below was btw one of the things I dealed with in my workshop there. I talked a lot about reference material, inspiration, creation and the like.

I'm again way behind with answering e-mails, sending out things, replying to comments etc. So sorry for everyone is waiting, I will get back to it as soon as possible!

In Good Company

Next week, I will return to my duties as a workshop host at the Nemoland Festival in Florence, Italy. This time, I'll focus on creation and inspiration. BTW, it seems like I am in good company there... :o)

Apropos, a great many of my vehicle designs are pretty much inspired by the legendary Dymaxion car and Ford's Lincoln Futura.

Inspiration: SwissMiss

This is one of my favorite places I go on the internet nearly every day, Tina Roth Eisenberg's swissmiss design blog. Today, one of my space-suit-loving StarDucks characters visited Tina in here office in NYC to say hello and to show her his newly bought swiss-suit:

Update: I forgot to mention, that he's a wrestling suit lover, too. They call him 'The Red 4-Legged Iron Feather'.
