May I introduce Mr. Phileas Forger, he is a sort of composite kind of character, literally meaning his mechanic body parts, and, in a transferred sense, meaning his temper, but most of all he is a fabulous blacksmith and a pretty important supporting figure in Toby Skybuckle I. He lost nose, chin and right hand while he was making dinner in his furnace, and not in that sanguinary battle with the barbarous steam-ogres, as some may believe.
