COAT OF SMILES, parody art of iconic symbols. A duck's hat, a mouse's ears and a smiling yellow button. Three iconic things brought together in one artwork.

The Art Center

Recently, I became part of The Art Center team: "The Art Center is a brand new place where Artists will share Ideas, Tips, and Tutorials."

At the moment we are 8 players: Randall Sly (Character Design Blog), Rad Sechrist (Dreamworks), Brian Wong, Damon Bard (Bard Sculpture Studio), Octavio Rodriguez (Lucasfilms), Sam Nielson (Avalanche/Disney Interactive), Xavier Ramonède and my humble self... Update, 11 players: Marc McDonnell (teaches life drawing at Disney and Dreamworks), Shane Prigmore (Dreamworks) and Louie del Carmen (the youngest of the del Carmen brothers) joined the Art Center team, too.

  5. Hi Florian!

Thanks for your comment at the cobayo!

It seems you´ve been working a lot, love so much this character. Is so cool to see the whole process from the begining, specially where did you take all the inspiration.

Also is great to see you are involved in so may projects, showing your characters at The Art Center is a very good idea.

    Amazing work as allways!

  6. The shape/pose of the rider is great! Flows really well with the shape of the monster's head.

  7. Hello, I'm a student of graphic design at the Universidad Nacional of Costa Rica and I'm in the process of graduation of the last step..
I found your blog because I'm doing my final project on digital illustration but based on the abstraction of pre-Columbian cultures of Costa Rica.
I saw this picture of you in reference where it appears as a piece of pre-Columbian and I ask why you used and what elements of it inspired you in this work..
I deeply appreciate if you can answer because you're the only one I could find who shares these interests with me..
Please contact me and I will thank you forever!
